I had a day dream that I was blogging again. It has been years. I am so grateful for all the people that used to read, and share. I would like to do it again someday. One thing I have learned in the last several years, is that art can not be made in stolen moments. Hopefully the demands of life will allow for some free time soon.

The process changes with the size of the piece

Layer upon layer the images are embedded within the clear glass. The size of the piece determines what tools I need to create it.

Most of the marbles I can make in my studio with my equipment. My torch flame, and kiln.  Each marble requires at least 4 firings, and sometimes 5 or six. I can envision future works having 10 or 15 kiln firing sessions.

Anything larger than about 2″, I need to rent a shop for. And, I need an Assistant in order to complete the piece. Something I like to call, “An investment”.

Renting the hot shop is very exciting. There is a sense of urgency and immediacy that I have not experienced before. My art has always had a little bit of chance art attitude. Wait and see what happens, see how things evolve.  In the hot shop, you want to know what your making before you make it. Time is money.  The more I work there, the more I come up with ways to improvise and take chances.  I am really stoked about how things are coming out.

implosion pendants

New!! New!! New!! Been working on my “Concert series” of Marbles.  A new technique!! I figured it out all by myself over several years! (BAM! that’s my reward, I get to say that. lol)  I’m using those decals I sell.  A tribute to the Grateful Dead, my favorite band.  Totally stoked to collaborate with several different Artist’s on this!!!!  Here is a peak.

This is my New part time Assistant! I am learning I can not do it all as fast as I need it done. I  am so stoked to have Alison on board. An amazing Women that can move Mountains! Truly Grateful for her. And she likes to dance! We have fun.

Around 12 months since my last update…I’m still here!

I would like to take a moment and officially try to push the start button on my website (even though it is still under construction).  I am new, my life is new. As some of you know, last July My Husband, Ronald Nathe Morley, passed away unexpectedly. I am so sorry for our loss.  Myself and my children are healing. Ron saved 5 lives by donating his organs.  He hybridized many lily flowers we have yet to see be born. My family and I will be growing his babies to full maturity, naming them after him, and most likely donating to the lily society some bulbs each year.

I am truly Honored to have spent 1997 to 2013  with Ronald Nathe Morley. I am looking forward to sharing his art with you from time to time. (images here are of his art) I am also stoked to collaborate with his art and mine. (This pendant photo below is  in progress fusing his art onto glass) Stay tuned for the journey! As I venture back into selling my Art and living this life, thank you for being part of it!

This world is full of amazing people! We are here for each other.  It is unbelievable how many people have extended peace, love, generosity,heart felt thoughts……I can’t say Thank you enough for the generosity of others.  Thank you! YOU!

Blog BLAHG art TALKin’…. Ron’s art!

Today I made one lady in a dress, one NEW Rock the earth bead. (And I am just now sending them some cash!), I have three pendants, one NEw marble with an eye, and DICHRO!! And an earth all rolled up bead. I am not much of a make the same -thing…over…and …over…kind of person!)

So, I guess it was a productive day at the torch! See you Sunday with some New auctions! (Go ahead! Watch it!  and bid at the last second. that’s what everybody else does!)
