Physical demands sure do inspire healthy medicine

February 5, 2023

Aa lot of effort goes into feeling good. I have to have energy, and a clear healthy mind in order to be creative, and successful at my job. I Exercise daily, practice meditation, and I take CBD’s regularly. Almost every day. I notice my body feels awesome when I do that.

I take a CBD that has Turmeric in it, and black pepper. The black pepper makes the turmeric anti inflammatory properties work 2,000% stronger! I Love this product so much, I became an Affiliate for them. And I got to tell ya, it is a lot of fun to help people feel good! As well as working with super kind people. The company was founded by people that I have met in my life that have really impressed me. Not only are they kind to eachother, and supportive of each others dreams, as a family, I see them offering that kindness to people all around their life. These are the kind of people I feel great supporting. It is a Grateful experience.

Look what I got! Thank you, Ms. Booger! LOOK WHAT I MADE!

March 29, 2009

sherylboogermoonwebI organized my first event for the guild (GLASSACT).

Sheryll Hubbard-Anspach and Jim Anspach (that link there is a nice interview); They came out for a demonstration before the bead bonanza (big bead show in Metro Detroit area every Spring, and every Fall) .

One of the GLASSACT goals is to learn, and support other Artist’s that teach; and make education less expensive for our members. Keep the flow flowin’! So, we invited Ms. Booger out for a demo!

Sheryll (Ms. Booger) did a great demonstration on her Mask beads.  She made a bug too!  And then! To top it off we got Jim (Mr. Booger) to make us a flame bead, and a beautiful rose.  (that was a bonus!) So much patience to make those flames!

Just as I went to leave Sheryll gave me this crescent moon face bead. I really love it. The blue is gorgeous, and those fluffy cheaks are so pinchable!

As soon as I got home, I was so inspired to get to my torch. I had to make a Comedy mask. The skills Sheryll shared were kind of a new perspective, and I really wanted to try it out.

sheiamorley-inspired-by-sheryl-boogerCobalt and silver. A favorite combination of many glass flame workers. The fuming is beautiful.

I was happy with my first approach.  I can see where I want to add more detail as I go. These techniques are so imediate, and require very little tooling. I was really amazed that she could wait for the glass to land right where it needs to be. Slowly sculpting the form by adding the glass one step at a time.

Right now I am working a lot of hours for the science schools and hospitals that need shop drawings of the future labs, and classrooms. BAM! Is that off subject? Not really. It turns out many of these mad scientists are making glass on a regular basis.  Some of them are even running the departments! lol!

It is a small world after all.

New post at WMC! Some custom work.

March 10, 2009

soft glass Lampwork marble 1-1/4" dia by me.

 All about some custom thoughts!

Go read my new post at WMC!

This here marble is sitting in front of me right now.  I Love red and blue. The colors really make me happy.  And, I need some happy right now. I would normally put this at ebay, but, really? What’s the point? Hits are down, and sales are down, and my advertisement budget is $0.  So, I think I will just keep it here in front of me, until the next show.

The sales rep. in me is gone for a while, off in that “real life” world…I am choosing creation time over selling time…for today, and for the next little while.

I really do not know what I am doing? I do know that the next Gallery I am considering selling at shows one of my favorite glass Artist’s work too (HERE! In Michigan!). And, really that would be flattering; to have my work next to his. I’ll keep you posted on that.  After these last few years 70% of my sales were in California, about 8% in Michigan, and the rest all over the world.  So, I am not sure where the art should be (other than California!). I just know that I should be creating it, not spending my time trying to sell it.

So, I’m off in the real world, drawing auto cad drawings this week, and still writing my tutorial/book/tutorial (I can not decide if it is a book or a tutorial?), and I will be creating art at some point! And, my super secret enamel project is almost ready to show…If I didn’t have the other job, it might be done this week….and, so, I will probably stretch it out…So many projects, so little time…

thanks for checking in! ~~~~~;)

Go read that post! at WMC!
