parting with some old art;thinking about the new

I have decided to down size. This self-portrait in plywood (1996) decomposed…fell apart, and goodbye…

It used be a container; looked like a coffin.  Used to have rocks glued to it, with a painting in oil with acrylic over it…broke the rules; oil and water, and it was interesting.  Then I sanded the painting off, and it became Halloween art for the last several years.  Goodbye weird self-portrait in plywood.

Glass and cement LOVE the outdoors. This is a big cement bead on a copper pipe. 6 or 8 years; looks the same.  I thought the copper would have turned green…Nope.   Love enlarging jewelry into sculpture.  Big celebration of passion; no function, just art.

We’re focusing on some new skills these next few months.  The goal is to spend as much time with the medium as possible. Maybe revisit those concrete/glass garden beads….
